God's love for us showed when He sacrificed His only begotten son for us (John 3:16). As followers of Christ, we acknowledge this love, God's love. And if we truly understand His love, we tend to give back to God that which means the most to us. Something that is precious to us.
If we have truly accepted Jesus in our hearts, we will have that desire to give back the best of our best to God and not just a part or something that has already been blemished. If we are still unwilling to give our best and our all to Him, this would indicate how God really means to us. Giving requires a pure heart and a sincere motive. God checks our hearts before what we could offer to Him. He blesses those who give their all and who give the best of their best to Him, especially those who give out of gratitude, joy, and love.
"If you still struggle in giving your best offering to God, pause and reflect on what God sacrificed for you." -Henry T. Blackaby and Richard Blackaby, Experiencing GOD day-by-day.
If we still struggle to give our best to Him, let's assess our hearts and remind ourselves of how God loves us. How He sacrificed His son for our sake. How He cleansed us through the blood of His son Jesus. So are you now willing to give Him the best of your best? An offering drawn out of gratitude, joy, and love?
